Injectable lidocane may be administered prior to this treatment. They will insert an electric needle into the skin tag to destroy the skin tag growth, as well as any additional growth beneath the skin.

Electrolysis is usually fast and permanent, with minor scarring.

The removal of skin tags is in most cases not covered by insurance. This is due to the growth being benign and posing no health threats.
